CUPE K-12 outside workers reach tentative deal in P.G.

PRINCE GEORGE — CUPE 4991, K-12 maintenance and grounds workers at School District 57 have reached a tentative deal following two days of bargaining.

CUPE says the tentative deal will become part of the complete package members will vote to ratify, that also includes the provincial framework agreement approved by the K-12 Presidents Council in September.

The union says the current agreement expires on June 30, 2019 and add when ratified by CUPE locals and schools districts, the provincial agreement will be in effect from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022.

Further details won’t be available until after ratification by all parties.

CUPE 4991 members include a wide variety of services including grounds, maintenance, trades, electricians, carpenters, labourers and repairmen.
