One third of BC residents say they’d rather road-trip than fly to reduce CO2 emissions
VANCOUVER– A survey by BC Hydro found that one-third of British Columbians are open to taking a road-trip over a flight to reduce their carbon footprint.
The survey also found that 75 per cent of BC residents are concerned with the impact of air travel on the environment. Of those surveyed, one-third said they would take a road-trip for their next vacation in order to create a smaller negative impact on the environment.
According to a release from BC Hydro, two passengers on a return flight from Vancouver to Kelowna are responsible for around 400 kg of Carbon Dioxide emissions approximately the same as 170 litres of gasoline.
