PRINCE GEORGE — A Prince George author released her sixth novel this week and is marking the occasion with a book signing at Books and Company until 2 p.m. today (June 28).

The book – titled “Gateway Crescent” – is a work of romantic fiction, and is Book Two in the Bendixon Sisters Series.

Book One was released earlier this year and Book Three will be out this fall.

Brenda Clotildes writes under the name Brenda Margriet and released her first novel back in 2012.

Of interest to locals, she says almost all of her books are set in Prince George.

“As a reader, I like to read about different locations. I love to travel to places that I’ve read about. And I’m very proud to be from northern B.C. and as most people know we’re a big tourist destination for a lot of people. So, my thought was other people would want to read about us,” she says.

“There is also a hint of write what you know. It seems kind of pointless to create a fake city when I could just use Prince George and people who don’t know it it won’t make any difference to them but people who do know can feel that connection. So, I like to talk to people who say ‘I knew what you were talking about there.’ And even if I don’t use the real name say ‘wasn’t that the street that you were talking about?’ And I think that’s really cool.”
