Cougars sign their two first-round Bantam Draft selections

PRINCE GEORGE–The Prince George Cougars Hockey Club is welcoming two new members, defenceman Keaton Dowhaniuk and forward Koehn Ziemmer.

Dowhaniuk and Ziemmer were the Cougars’ two first-round selections in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft. “We are thrilled to have these two in the fold ,” said General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb.

The Cougars used their first pick, third overall to select Dowhaniuk from the OHA Edmonton Bantam Prep team of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. The cats used their second pick, fourth overall, to select Dowhaniuk’s teammate at OHA Edmonton in Ziemmer.

Dowhaniuk was named the CSSHL Bantam Prep Division Top Defenceman, also being named the Alberta Cup All-Star. Ziemmer finished second in scoring in the CSSHL Bantam Prep Division, compiling 76 points in just 29 games.
