Tourism PG will look at moving VIC
PRINCE GEORGE – If Mayor Lyn Hall has his way, Tourism Prince George’s Visitor Information Centre will be moving closer to the crossroads of Highways 16 and 97. The issue arose at a recent Council meeting when Tourism presented their annual report.
“Well there’s no question, I want to move the Tourist Information Centre. I think that we could pick a better location.I think the location, and I’ve talked about it for a very long time, is at the corner of Highway 16 and 97.”
The Board for Tourism has now set aside some funds to look into a possible move.
“So our Board does have some reserve funding. We don’t have any identified use up until now,” explains Erica Hummer, CEO for Tourism Prince George. “Our Board decided that we want to start thinking about the move of the Visitors Centre and what that might cost for renovating a space or perhaps furnishing something new.
