Slow start to wildfire season

Jul 10, 2019 | 3:54 PM

PRINCE GEORGE — The city was bracing for another crazy wildfire season, especially with hot and dry conditions anticipated for the summer months. So far though, the weather hasn’t been what was initially predicted.

The rain might get in the way of some summer activities, but it’s a welcome change since it has helped prevent wildfires. This time last year, smoke filled Prince George.

This year, the sky is clear and there has been plenty of precipitation. The Prince George Fire Centre was prepared for a potential wildfire season, and have even been able to send firefighters and other resources to Alberta to fight blazes there.
