Northern Health wants to remind the public to be wary of Blue-Green Algae in lakes this summer. The bacteria can cause nausea, fever, diarrhea and other symptoms if in contact with or ingested. Symptoms usually last between 1-2 days.

9 cats trapped and left to die in storage bins

Two kittens and seven adult cats were found abandoned in storage bins in a vacant property in Prince George. The emaciated, urine and feces covered cats were discovered by the property owner who contacted the SPCA, the cats are expected to live.

As water recedes the Cariboo Regional District, and the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre turned their focus on damage assessments and are now shifting towards recovery. The floods inundated hundreds of kilometres of the region, damaging buildings, hay fields and irrigation channels.
