DEASE LAKE–Dease Lake RCMP are asking for the publics assistance in finding 19-year-old Kam McLeod and 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky.

Police responded to a vehicle fire south of the Stikine River Bridge on Highway 37, where they discovered a body nearby.

Police can confirm that the body does not belong to either of the teens.

The duo who was driving the vehicle are said to have been driving through BC to visit Whitehorse to look for work, however, have not been in contact with their family for the last few days.

“Kam and Bryer have periodically connected with family and friends over the past week and it is possible that they are now in area without cell coverage”, says Dawn Roberts, BC RCMP Communications.

Dease Lake RCMP are asking McLeod and  Schmegelsky or anyone with information on the boy’s whereabouts to contact them.

The vehicle fire is 465 km away from where police found the remains of Chynna Noelle Deese and Lucas Robertson Fowler, the two internationals killed in Northern BC earlier this month.
