Mayor, Canucks alumni raise team flag ahead of Commonwealth Cup

It’s Vancouver Canucks day in the city!

A handful of former NHLers joined the Mayor, representatives from United Way of Northern BC, and organizers of the Commonwealth Cup at City Hall Monday to raise a flag that will fly all week to welcome in the 12th annual charity golf tournament.

The Commonwealth Cup has raised over $300,000 dollars since its inception and this year features Canucks Alumni including Dennis Kearns, Garry Monahan, and Darcy Rota, who will join almost 150 golfers Tuesday at Aberdeen.

The tournament has grown a lot since its creation, as it didn’t always feature the characters it does now.
