PRINCE GEORGE — Students from a Japanese high school have been in Prince George for the last couple of weeks learning about Canadian culture.

They are celebrating the end of the trip with a sayonara party featuring Japanese cultural activities Wednesday night.

A total of 36 grade 11 students came on this trip but it looks like it will be the last one for the time being as the program is relocating south of the border after 27 years. The reason is that the teachers for the program are retiring but if more resources are made available, it is possible the program will return.

The program, first started in 1992, has seen over 1,000 students come to Prince George.
