pair of former Cougars have found places to play for the coming season. One starting school, the other returning to the continent. Local boy Chase Witala has signed a deal with the Jacksonville Icemen, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Winnipeg Jets. Witala is returning from Germany, where he just finished his first full season. The forward wore a Cougar crest for 7 years, from his bantam years all the way to his fifth season in the WHL with the Cats. Also committing his hockey talents this week is Mike MacLean. The short-term Cougar played just one season with the Cougars and will be utilizing the WHL scholarship next year to play with the Concordia University Stingers in Montreal.
