PRINCE GEORGE —Update: B.C. Education Minister Rob Fleming says final exam marks for Grade 12 students have now been fixed and he’s confident that students and their families can now know those grades are correct.
Fleming says an investigation discovered that human error caused the incident when provincial exam data was being manually transferred between systems.
The minister says staff have checked and updated the results for accuracy and those grades will be communicated directly to post-secondary institutes.
Fleming says he knows this situation has caused anxiety for students and he wants to assure them that it won’t have an impact on their admission to colleges and universities

Earlier: Trying times for Grade 12 graduates in B.C. This as the Ministry of Education has announced it’s investigating problems with how certain Grade 12 exam results have been tabulated.

Final grades are crucial in determining which post-secondary institutions students are able to attend.

No word yet on how many exams are at issue or if any of them originate in Prince George. Regardless, the Prince George School Board says despite it being summer, district staff are in contact with the Ministry of Education looking for answers.
