BANTAM PROVINCIALS
New mounds make Provs possible at Nechako fields

They’re right here in town and they’re already underway, the BC Minor Baseball Bantam AA Provincials. Two fields at the Nechako ball park are hosting the 36 games carrying on into this weekend and while the all-dirt infields will produce some screaming groundballs. The all-dirt mounds are a new addition that players are sure to appreciate. The pair of team parents designed the pristine mounds instead of using the portable wood mounds used while the team trains at UNBC in the winter. The solution solved the question of where could the bantam team host locally, since Citizen Field is a size too big for the age group. The boys have practiced on the mounds recently and have no complaints.
