PRINCE GEORGE – The recent heavy rainfall has kept the City’s park crews busy today. This morning they celebrated opening a new downtown park and hours later they needed close sports fields and ball diamonds due to the heavy rain. Under rainy skies, the new Wood Innovation Square was officially open this morning downtown. It’s the second park space downtown since the creation of Canada Games Plaza. The recent soaking may be good for the new plants. However, the rain forced the city to close sports fields. The ball tournament was scheduled to start at 9 this morning. Event organizers have moved the start of the tournament Saturday 9 am. Residents interested in the status of a field or ball diamond are asked to contact the City Service Centre.
