Watermain flushing will begin next week in the Hart

PRINCE GEORGE–Watermain flushing will begin to take place next week as City crews begin operations to help maintain water quality in the Hart.

Operations will begin on Tuesday, August, 6 running until the end of August. Residents throughout the Hart neighbourhood might notice cloudy water and a slight drop in pressure for a few hours each day until the operation is complete.

The City says that the water is safe to drink, however, the project may stir up iron deposits in the watermains and suggests residents store some water for drinking and avoid doing laundry from 8:30 am to 3 pm, to reduce laundry discolouration.

The flushing is part of the City’s regular water system maintenance program that happens every summer.
