Aug 3, 2019 | 2:58 PM

PRINCE GEORGE— The first Soapbox Derby in nearly 50 years was held on a hill on Victoria St. today (August 3). Over 20 competitors raced on the course.

The event started off a bit bumpy, with a few crashes. But after the start line was moved forward, it was smooth sailing.

Each car was unique, with competitors spending weeks with friends and family to get their cars ready for the big race.

The proceeds from the event are going towards Big Brothers Big Sisters Prince George.
