B.C. fugitives believed found dead – RCMP

RCMP believe that the bodies of the two teens charged with the murder of two tourists and a UBC professor have been found. RCMP believe this after finding several items belonging to the suspects on shore near a northern Manitoba river.

Company behind proposed petrochemical plant held open house

West Coast Olefins, the company behind the proposed $5.6 billion petrochemical plant in Prince George held an open house yesterday. The open house allowed for company executives to inform the public further on the project and answer questions.

SD57 continues search for new superintendent

The search for a new superintendent continues in SD57. The position opened up after Marilyn Marquis-Forster announced her departure from the position earlier this year. The district hopes to have a new superintendent before January.

Avoid contact with Blue Green Algae

With the warmer weather blue-green algae blooms are appearing in lakes across northern BC. Cluculz Lake is one of the lakes where the algae has begun to bloom. Contact with the algae can cause skin irritation, nausea and vomiting and diarrhea.

The 7th Big Squeeze fundraiser took place yesterday with local businesses and restaurants making their best lemonade and hoping to raise the most money for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Last year the fundraiser raised more than $12,000.
