VANDERHOOF — An unnamed man could face several charges following a string of incidents Tuesday night.

Police say a distraught man led officers on a chase through Vanderhoof, lasting about 12 hours. The man was seen damaging a home around 6:30pm before taking off in a vehicle. Police were concerned for his wellbeing.

The man took off on highway 27 and refused to stop for police even after a spike belt was deployed. He eventually came to a stop at a gas station west of town. He then ordered a woman, who was uninjured, to leave a second vehicle at the gas station and continued fleeing from police in that vehicle.

He was eventually arrested in front of a local business on 4th street just before 7am Wednesday morning and was taken to hospital for medical treatment. Anyone with information is asked to contact Vanderhoof RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
