PRINCE GEORGE– A man has been arrested in connection to three break and enters and stealing a vehicle.

On Wednesday, August 14th police received reports of three commercial break ins. Two were located on Continental Way in the BCR Industrial Site and another was on the 1400 block of 10th Ave. All three businesses were subject to broken glass doors and having their cash boxes targeted.

At around 8:30 AM on the same day RCMP received a report of a stolen 2006 Ford F-350 pick-up from a business lot on the 700 block of 2nd Ave. The vehicle was believed to have been stolen overnight and was believed to have been involved in the commercial break and enters.

PG RCMP received a call on Thursday Aug.15th of a break and enter in progress at a commercial property on Quinn Street. The adult male fled the area in the stolen truck and police did not pursue the suspect due to the aggressive manner in which the vehicle was being driven, in concern of public safety. A few minutes later, police located 30-year-old Clinton Jay Baraniuk of Prince George and arrested him.

Baraniuk made his first appearance in court on Thursday (Aug.15) and was remanded in custody until his next court date scheduled for Wednesday Aug.21.

Police say they are aware of the similarities between this break and enter and others committed recently. Multiple cash boxes believed to be from previous break and enters were found in the truck. Those investigations are continuing.
