Transit expansion and increased fare rates for fall 2019

PRINCE GEORGE–A transit service expansion will hit the streets of Prince George this fall, and the new expansion means new transit rates.

Fare rates are set to go up on September 1, 2019, with the expansion kicking in two days later on September 3rd. The service expansion will see extended service hours for the Spruceland, Hart and Queensway areas. The longer hours are are targeted at providing more value to customers.

Bus riders will also be able to purchase a DayPASS as soon as they hop on the bus, ridding the system of transfer slips. The DayPASS is an attempt at making it more convenient to ride the bus all day throughout the city.

New Fares:

  • Senior/Student Single Ticket $2.50 (saw $0.50 cent increase)
  • Adult Monthly Pass $60 ($2.50 increase)
  • Student Monthly Pass $50 ($2.00 increase)
  • Semester Pass $135 ($10 increase)
  • DayPASS $5.00
  • handyDART $2.50 ($2.25)

Expanded Includes:

  • Extended service for route 91 Spruceland/Hart until 8pm on weekdays and Saturdays
  • Extended service for route 46 Queensway until 7:30 pm on Sundays
  • Route 46 will now be utilizing a conventional sized bus to provide more capacity

The Family Travel Program will now allow parents or guardians with a valid monthly pass, DayPASS, ProPASS, U-PASS or BC Bus Pass to bring up to four children (12 years and under) for free on the weekend.
