PRINCE GEORGE— It’s been over one month since the first legal cannabis shop opened in Prince George. Since opening on July 11, Grasshopper Retail has been quite busy.

According to a recent Statistics Canada Report, 40 per cent of cannabis users are still buying from illegal sources. But, many people coming into Grasshopper Retail say they prefer getting the legal drug from a trustworthy source, even if it’s a bit more expensive than the street price.

Other shops are set to open in Prince George in the upcoming months, but Grasshopper Retail Co-Owner Derrick Przysieny says having competition won’t hurt their business, especially after having such a busy start.
