Council will ponder fee increases
PRINCE GEORGE – Death and taxes. Two things that are unavoidable in life. And the cost of both may be getting higher come the new year. That’s because the Finance and Audit Committee has had a meeting to discuss four areas that may see increases. Cemetary costs, parks and recreation facilities, off-street parking and water and sewer rates.
“For a lot of years, it was nice that we had those zero percent increases. You know that was great and we kept to that as long as we could,” explains Garth Frizzell, Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. “But with the cost of inflation, that’s at least two percent per year.”
