PRINCE GEORGE — Interest has peaked for the local Search and Rescue team following this past weekend’s lost and found four-year-old boy, as more people are now looking to volunteer with the service.
In the case of George Benoit, 22 Prince George Search and Rescue members were called in to help and up to another 15 were on call ready to go if needed. According to Search Manager Dave Merritt, an increase of interest is common following incidents like this, the real key is to maintain interest through lengthy training.
Intake sessions are finished for this year, usually taking place early in the summer.
