PRINCE GEORGE– $1.06 Million dollars, that’s what one Prince George woman is walking away with after a win at the Treasure Cove Casino last week.
Brittany Hammell is the latest winner of the Powerbucks progressive jackpot, worth $1.06 million. Hammel won the national jackpot on August 20th while playing the Wheel of Fortune Hawaiian Getaway slot machine at the Treasure Cove Casino. “I didn’t believe it at first,” says Hammell. “I was just in shock at the time. To be honest, it still hasn’t quite kicked in yet.”
This win comes off the heels of a $2.1 million win just over a month ago.“It feels good to win,” says Hammell, who adds that life won’t change much for her family. “I think our family will look into buying a house and helping to set up the future for our family.”
BC Lottery Corporation says the odds of wining the Powerbucks jackpot on a $3 wager are around 1 in 25 million. Since every spin of a machine is random, the odds of winning the jackpot anywhere is the same with every spin.
