PRINCE GEORGE– Canfor has announced new curtailments that will come into effect in September.

PG Sawmill in Prince George, along with the Houston, Polar and Fort St. John mills will be undergoing a curtailment from September 3rd to 6th. The Plateau mill and the Vanderhoof and the Houston operation will be going down to four-day work weeks, from five. The shorter work weeks will remain in place until market and economic conditions support a full return to a full operating schedule.

These curtailments will impact around 75 million board feet of capacity.

This news comes on the heels of Canfor’s decision to indefinitely curtail operations at its sawmill in Mackenzie last month.
