Province extends public survey on plastic reduction

Aug 28, 2019 | 1:10 PM

VICTORIA–If you haven’t voiced your idea on what the province should do to ban, reduce and recycle more plastics, there’s still time.

Originally the province had scheduled to end their public engagement on Sept. 18th, however they have received quite a bit of response and have therefore extended the date to Sept. 30th.

Almost 25,000 surveys have been completed and according to a press release the BC government says that it is important to hear from as many British Columbians as possible.

The survey will provide the province with feedback on ideas to reduce plastic waste, including bans and expanding recycling to include single-use times, such as cutlery and more beverage containers. The survey can be found here.
