Attempted murder suspect arrested in Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE — Police have announced they have arrested a man wanted for two counts of kidnapping along with two counts of attempted murder.

In a statement, RCMP say they arrested 23-year-old Michael Drynock on Aug. 19 without incident.

The charges came after a homicide in Williams Lake on Aug. 6 and a related incident at the Rudy Johnson Bridge on Aug. 9.

Jayson Gilbert is already in custody and facing the same charges.

Earlier this month police released information on a missing person in relation to these incidents – Branton Regner.

Yesterday police announced human remains were discovered on Wednesday near the Sheep Creek Bridge just west of Williams Lake though the identity of the remains have not yet been identified.
