Cougars drop pre-season opener to Blazers

The Prince George Cougars opened up pre-season play Friday afternoon at the Langley Events Centre as they battled the Kamloops Blazers.

Unfortunately for the Cougars it wasn’t the result they were looking for as they fell 7-1 to their B.C division rivals.

Matej Toman scored the lone goal for Prince George on the power play midway through the 2nd period.

19-year-old Isaiah DiLaura was in net for all 7 Kamloops goals.

The good news for the Cougars is they won’t have to wait long before returning to the ice.

They will be back at it Saturday evening at the Langley Events Centre when they tangle with the reigning B.C division champion Vancouver Giants.

Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.

The Cougars will then be in Kelowna Sunday to wrap up three games in three days.
