Waste reduction in the new school year

PRINCE GEORGE–The back-to-school season can be a stressful one for parents, and waste reduction might not be top of mind, however, there are some easy ways to help reduce waste when heading back to class.

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is reminding the public to reduce their waste as children head back to school.

Clothing, new school supplies and even how you pack your lunch can all have an impact on how much waste you produce. “When you need to get school supplies, scour your house to find all those school supplies from last year and see if there is any life left in them,” said Rachel Ryder, Waste Diversion Program Lead at the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George.
