RCMP continue to investigate 30-year-old cold case

The Jack family has been missing for more than 30 years, the two adults and two children were last heard on August 2nd 1989. The family was last seen leaving their home with an unknown man in a dark coloured 4×4 pick-up. RCMP continue to investigate.

On-foot chase leads to guilty plea for theft last week

22-year-old Jordy Martin Visser-Hayne was arrested last Friday, Sept.6th after an on-foot police chase. Hayne was found in possession of a laptop and a tablet from a car parked at a business on 2nd Ave. The suspect pled guilty to theft under $5,000.

Quesnel Council enhances nuisance bylaw

Mayor and Council in Quesnel amended its nuisance bylaw with a focus on going after people who loiter or panhandle in the downtown core. This after a recent $6 million upgrade to its downtown. Any person caught breaking the bylaw will face a ticket or a fine.

Waste reduction in the new school year

The Regional District is reminding the public to try and reduce their waste as children head back to school. Going through old school supplies to see what can be re-used for the next year, packing lunches in re-usable containers and buying re-used textbooks are ways to reduce waste in the new school season.

First-ever Vegan Fest coming to Prince George

The first ever Vegan Fest will take place in conjunction with Fall Fest, on Sept. 21st. The event will showcase vegan food from local restaurants as well as vegan products from local businesses and tips on how to cut out animal products.
