QUESNEL – Variable operating schedules are one of the ways West Fraser Timber plans to decrease production by up to 25 per cent.

Many other forestry companies have also made changes to their business plans to keep their operations viable.

The city of Quesnel leadership had a vision where they understood the potential of job loss for their community and are taking steps to protect its economy.

Mayor Bob Simpson says once the city rides out some short-term pain, his community will prosper in the future.
