COUGARS PROSPECT
Top picked prospect returns home after first Cougars camp
Sep 17, 2019 | 7:38 PM
The Cougars roster sits at 25 players this week, which includes eight defencemen and fifteen forwards.
The team has returned 15-year-old Keaton Dowhaniuk to his midget prep team. The move was expected as 15-year-olds can only play five games in the WHL during the season.
The defenceman was the Cougars’ first pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft, going third overall. After giving Cougars fans a preview of what’s to come during this year’s preseason, the Saskatchewan-born d-man returns to the Okanagan Hockey Academy’s Edmonton’s Midget team. He says he’s got lots to work on in terms of toughness before he’ll look to crack the Cougars roster full-time next season.
