PRINCE GEORGE–If you’re going to the Crossroads street festival this weekend and you’re feeling a little generous bring some pet food with you!

The BC SPCA recently started a pet food bank for the community along with the Salvation Army. “Head over Handle Axe Throwing reached out to us to offer a donation for our pet food bank and when they heard we were in urgent need of cat food they invited us to have a tent next to theirs at this Saturday’s Crossroads Street Festival for a cat food drive,” explains Alyssa Stauble, manager of community engagement for the North Cariboo & District SPCA.

The SPCA supports more than 290 cats through the foodbank program and while they have plenty of dog food, they have no cat or kitten food left–cash donations will also be taken. “We want to support families in our community and help make sure their pets don’t go hungry,” says Stauble.

The Crossroads Street Festival will take place Saturday, Sept.21.
