Tolko announces capacity reduction at Soda Creek, Armstrong
VERNON, B.C. — Tolko has announced the latest round of mill reductions in BC’s Interior.
The Vernon-based company says it will reduce its operating capacity at its Soda Creek and Armstrong stud mills by 20 per cent.
As with most other closures and curtailments in the industry, Tolko blames this move on high log costs and weak market conditions.
In a news release, Vice President of Solid Wood Troy Connolly says those factors mean the company “must take immediate and responsible action to ensure our long-term stability in B.C.”
