PRINCE GEORGE — The College of New Caledonia accepted a big donation from a local businessman and philanthropist this morning.

John Brink, Founder, President and CEO of the Brink Group announced a $1 million commitment to CNC throughout the next 10 years.

The donation is the largest financial gift he’s ever handed out during his 55 years working in the forest industry in northern B.C.

He said the commitment further enhances his partnership in supporting education and industry training in the north and is proof he’s still a big believer in the industry itself.

“Absolutely, I believe that the current challenges, although there are many of them, are temporary. The industry is going to get smaller but I still see lots of opportunities,” said Brink.

“And we as a company have steadily grown in the last number of years and we still today are still looking at further expansion both here in Prince George, Vanderhoof and Houston.”
