WHITEHORSE — A 22-year-old man has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of a Whitehorse man in June of 2017.
The jury delivered the verdict Thursday afternoon after two days of deliberations in the trial of Edward Penner, of Quesnel, who was accused in the death of 25-year-old Adam Cormack.
Penner’s conviction is an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.
A member of Cormack’s family yelled out “Yes!” as the verdict was read, and his sister and mother both told Penner in victim impact statements that they hate him and karma will get him.
