Cougars start season 0-2 following a weekend sweep by Vancouver Giants

Sep 22, 2019 | 8:18 AM

The Prince George Cougars had a difficult time solving 20-year-old goaltender David Tendeck Saturday night at the CN Centre.

The veteran netminder stopped 26 of 27 shots as the Vancouver Giants completed the weekend sweep of the Prince George Cougars with a 4-1 win.

The Giants scored early and often in the opening frame. They would find the back of the net three times in the opening 20 minutes to hop out to a 3-0 lead.

Mitchell Kohner would cut into the deficit late in the 1st period with his first of the campaign, but that was as close as they would come as the Giants earned their 2nd win in as many nights.
