Spirit of Healthy Kids becomes regional program
PRINCE GEORGE–The Prince George Cougars are attempting to inspire youth to make healthy choices and read more–and not just in Prince George–across northern BC.
The Spirit of Healthy Kids regional program will now reach over 220 schools and 33,000 students in the Northern Health region.
The first intake for the new regional program will be from Oct.1st to 31st. Schools wanting to participate across Northern BC will be able to apply, and six schools will be selected to participate and compete against each other.
The students will view a video consisting of health, and wellness messages from the PG Cougars and will track their healthy activities in tracking sheets for two weeks. At the end of the challenge, the school with the highest level of participation will receive a $5,000 grant from the program to complete a project in their school aimed at helping students make healthy choices every day.
