Carbon Action Plan expands
PRINCE GEORGE – This marks National Tree Day and, as it has four times before, the Prince George Chamber of Commerce hosted a special event to celebrate those local businesses that have undergone a carbon footprint analysis.
The Chamber launched the Carbon Action Plan has launched five years ago and to date, fifty businesses have done so. This was to be the last year of the program, but organizer Barb Otter announced the program has received enough funding to carry on for another two years. But this time, the Chamber plans to broaden its horizons, reaching out to other Chambers who wish to pursue similar ventures.
Three businesses were honoured with certificates for attaining and maintaining carbon neutrality. They are Northern Lights Estate Winery, Timberline Footfitters and Prince George Driving for Life.
