Two P.G. men facing charges
PRINCE GEORGE — Two men are facing charges after fleeing from police Wednesday morning.
The Prince George RCMP says they were conducting a theft investigation in the 1400 block of Carney Street when two males – both of whom were known to police – happened upon the officers and immediately fled the scene.
Police say the men were captured after a brief foot chase and say one of the men was found to have an empty gun holster concealed beneath his clothing. Mounties also found a loaded pistol on the ground near the male which they discovered was stolen. Police say the other man was found to be in possession of identification that did not belong to him.
Police say the BC Prosecution Service have approved a number of charges against 21-year-old Julien Lazarre of Prince George including carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing a peace officer and possession of stolen property under $5000. Lazarre has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Oct.2.
