National flu vaccine delay causing Manitoba to hold off on flu ads
WINNIPEG — The federal government says some provincial flu vaccination programs may have to set back their timing this year due to delays and shortages.
With flu season set to start, the Public Health Agency of Canada says about 55 per cent of the total flu vaccine order is currently available to distribute across the country.
The agency says it aims to have 90 per cent of the supply by the end of the month.
Manitoba’s Health Department has notified health-care providers that the delays may affect the number of flu shots available, and the department is delaying some advertisements that promote the vaccine.
