PRINCE GEORGE–Enrolment numbers are up when it comes to international students at UNBC.

UNBC President Daniel Weeks, says that enrolment rates are up “considerably” sitting at 40 percent, with 250 international students enroling.

According to Weeks, 20 percent is the sweet spot when it comes to international students at any post-secondary, “if you have more than 20 percent…it becomes a bit of a challenge to make sure that you have all the proper support systems in place to support those students.”

He mentions that the post-secondary still has room to grow “I believe, this community believes that international students are an absolute benefit to the diverse culture of our institution.” As for tuition at UNBC for International students, Weeks says it’s comparable to what domestic students pay, with a bit of an increase, as other resources do have to be supplied to them.
