Cougars defuse Rockets to earn first win of the campaign
The monkey is off the Prince George Cougars back.
After a tough loss Friday night at the hands of the Kelowna Rockets at the CN Centre, the Cougars bounced back Saturday with a 4-1 win in front of the home faithful to earn their first win of the 2019-2020 season.
Jack Sander would open the scoring with 2:57 remaining in the 1st period on the power play for his first goal in the Western Hockey League.
Ethan Samson doubled the Cougars lead halfway through the middle stanza on the man advantage with his first in the WHL and first of the season to make it 2-0 Cougars.
