Residents come out in droves for 15th Junk in the Trunk event
Mother nature cooperated Saturday morning for the 15th Junk in the Trunk event which took place in the parking lot of the CN Centre.
The event, which happens twice a year, provides a chance for residents to sell their unused “junk” and give it a 2nd life.
It also keeps items out of the landfill.
“We were sold out. So that’s 125 vendors. We host this event twice a year. The first weekend of May and the first weekend of October and October is waste reduction month. We have been doing this since 2012 and it’s a great opportunity for vendors to sell their trash and a chance for residents to find some treasures,” stated Executive Director of REAPS Terry McClymont.
