MCBRIDE–RCMP believe there was no criminal intent behind a report of an attempted abduction.

McBride RCMP say that on Oct. 8th at around 8:30 AM, a student from a local secondary school was on her way to school when she was approached by a male driver. The man told the student that school had been cancelled and offered her a ride home.

The student did not go with the man and continued walking to school, and reported the incident when she got there. A description of the vehicle and the suspect was provided to police, who identified the person of interest.

After investigating RCMP believe there was no criminal intent.”RCMP are asking parents and guardians to talk to your children about what they should do if approached by a stranger and to never accept anything from someone they do not know,” said Cst. Neal Kalnin McBride RCMP.
