PRINCE GEORGE–The BC SCPA is asking for the public’s help in caring for a dog that was found shot and emaciated.
The three-year-old boxer, Luna, was spotted by members of the public roaming Blackwater Road. The dog was reported to animal control who was able to capture her after over a week of attempts.
“Luna had been walking around for days with half of her jaw missing due to a gunshot wound. She immediately went in for emergency reconstructive surgery,” says SPCA North Cariboo District animal centre services manager Alex Schare.
The cost to care for the dog is estimated at around $3,230, anyone able to help is asked to reach the North Cariboo SPCA.
