OTTAWA — The Latest on the English-language leaders’ debate with Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau, Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, Green party Leader Elizabeth May, Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet and People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier. In the final post-debate scrum, Maxime Bernier says he deserves to be on the debate stage and represents the views of many Canadians who want fewer immigrants to Canada.
He argues he is more conservative than Andrew Scheer, and the Conservative leader is putting forward many of the same policies as Trudeau.
