Ahead of the Cougars two-game US road trip this weekend, the team has had to add an extra goaltender to the mix. With rookie goaltender Tyler Brennan listed as day-to-day with an upper body injury, the Cougars have signed Swift Current, Saskatchewan’s Jacob Herman. The soon to be 17-year-old was a free agent signing who was added to the Cougars’ 50-man Protected List last season. Herman has spent this season with the Swift Current Legionnaires in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League, where he’s currently 4-2. The newest Cougar backstop has joined the team in Spokane ahead of their weekend games.
