First-ever Turkey Trot takes place at Otway Nordic Skill Club

Thanksgiving is a holiday marked with plenty of tradition, and over the weekend a new tradition began as part of the long weekend

The first-ever Turkey Trot took place Saturday morning out at the Otway Nordic Skill Club and provided residents a chance to burn some calories in a 5K run ahead of their Thanksgiving feasts.

Thanksgiving-themed prizes were handed out following the run, which was a fundraiser for the Caledonia Nordic youth ski programs.

“They will help with buying waxes or helping with programming, gear for programs, and support for programs taking place in the wintertime here,” shared Organizer Susanne Weber.

Prizes included turkeys, vegetables, and pie. Weber and the rest of the organizers are hoping this can become an annual event and can grow next year.
