PRINCE GEORGE – UPDATE: On Friday, October 11th, the police requested help from the public in identifying two persons of interest in the recent homicide of 35-year-old Gregory Gareth Wale.

RCMP say they received many tips from the public. Later the same day and at separate times, both persons attended the Detachment and presented themselves to police.

Search warrants were obtained for a residence and vehicle associated with one of the persons of interest, who is now considered a suspect. The other person of interest has been cleared of any involvement in the death.

The suspect has been released pending further investigation and analysis of evidence. Although charges have yet to be laid, the investigation is continuing.

Craig Douglass, spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP. “Our hope is that the identification of these two men will further the investigation and get us closer to providing Gregory Wale’s family with some closure.”

The first person of interest is described as:

  • First Nations male
  • Approx. 30-years-old
  • Short dark hair with a scruffy mustache and beard

The second person of interest can be described as:

  • First Nations male
  • Approx. 25-years-old

Wale was taken to hospital with serious injuries the night of the incident, however, he left before receiving medical attention. He was later found dead at his home on October 5th, the day after the altercation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Prince George RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
